Congratulations on 30 Years!
We have to extend a special congratulations to our very own Jim Mitchell for having been a part of the m+a architects family for 30 years this month! What an accomplishment! Jim was the fourth person to be hired here at m+a in 1981 when the firm was just in its first year of existence (and called Meacham & Apel Architects). Hired as an intern architect/job captain, Jim has risen through the ranks at m+a, being promoted to Junior Partner in 1997 and then becoming a Principal in 2000. Since joining m+a, Jim became a licensed Architect in 1981, a certified State of Ohio Plans Examiner in 1983, and a certified Chief Building Official in 1993. Jim is a very knowledgeable resource on public projects, building codes, and project estimation having worked on literally hundreds of projects here. He is a pleasure to work with and very respected by clients and colleagues alike. Watch for building code info and tips to come on our blog as he publishes some of his famous "Code Corners."
What else was going on during March of 1981 when Jim started at m+a?
- President Ronald Regan was shot by John Hinckley
- "Ordinary People" won the 53rd Academy Awards for Best Film
- Indiana beat North Carolina for the Men's 1981 Basketball Championship
- Walter Cronkite delivered his final CBS Evening News telecast
