Experience Historic Preservation in Columbus
Historic Preservation is definitely a passion of mine. I have always loved "old buildings" and learning about historic places. Preservation is an experience, it is learning about the past in the present and seeing how it can shape the future. There are so many places to go and experience this, even here in our own backyard.....I hope to blog about many of the places one can go and visit here in Ohio....you never know what you may find! Just recently I came upon an offer for a tour of homes located in Old Towne East. My husband, who is a real estate agent, once took me to check out a house in this area that was for sale. The craftsmanship in the house was amazing and I could just imagine the parties that were once held in the third floor ballroom.
The tour of Old Towne East is July 10th from 1:00 to 7:00 and is self-guided. For more information on the history of Old Towne East click here. Tickets are available at http://www.oldetowneeast.org/2011-tour-tickets-on-sale-now/. Hopefully the history of this district will inspire you as much as it has me!
