Making the Boxes Count
What a wonderful experience I just had! Yesterday, through the local Columbus Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), I volunteered at the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. With about 15 of my fellow SMPS’ers we packed boxes of food for a new program that the Foodbank has started in which students in need take home food to their families from school. Although we were only there for a few hours we packed hundreds of boxes and got them ready to go out to the schools participating in the program.
The Mid-Ohio Foodbank does such great work in trying to feed the thousands of hungry people in Central Ohio. They serve 20 counties and rely very heavily on lots of volunteers to get the food they receive sorted, boxed and out to various outlets that get it to those in need. The people at the Foodbank are so wonderful - they make the volunteering enjoyable and fun!

SMPS is also a great organization for us marketing and business development people in the A/E/C industry. It's a national organization with 57 Chapters spread throughout the United States. Locally we have over 140 members in the Central Ohio area with a national membership of nearly 7000. SMPS is a dynamic and powerful network that seeks to Advocate, Educate, and Connect professionals across the A/E/C disciplines and build relationships, as well as promote and nurture business for member firms.
