College of Law Student Commons | The Ohio State University

Making a large campus feel like home

By renovating the student locker room area and adjacent corridors in Drinko Hall, college law students get a little taste of home. Located on the main campus of The Ohio State University, Drinko Hall houses the Mortiz College of Law and while much of the building has undergone renovations and additions since its opening in 1955, the student commons area was still original.

M+A worked with OSU, including student representatives, the dean of the College of Law, and donors from the local law firm, Dinsmore & Shohl to rearrange the layout. With the new design, the placement of the lockers allows for more natural daylight, more seating and sufficient study areas, while keeping the same number of lockers. The renovation was completed in time for the start of the 2012-2013 school year.
