Providing for evolving learning, research and practice collaboration.
The OSU College of Nursing, with both undergraduate and graduate programs ranked in the top ten nationally, is poised to continue significant growth in the coming years across the full spectrum of learners, teachers, researchers and collaborating practitioners. Leading efforts in Evidenced Based Practice nationally, the College seeks to nurture collaborative exchange within its walls, across the OSU Wexner Medical Center campus, and across the country.
To support these efforts, additional and more collaborative space is required than currently available in Newton Hall. This study developed a long-range physical facility growth plan that projected both a new addition and renovations to the existing building, adding flexible classrooms, a multipurpose auditorium, designated spaces for various research teams, an interprofessional health and wellness center, office and support spaces, simulation labs, and an active atrium area for studying, events, meetings, and donor recognition. Leveraging prior experience working with College leadership on recent renovations, M+A collaborated with SmithGroupJJR on project visioning, master planning & design, along with conducting a supporting analyses of Newton Hall, including evaluating both physical condition and space use distribution in the existing facility.
