A functional and modern office upgrade.
This project was a renovation of the administrative offices of the OSU College of Engineering, Department of Integrated Systems Engineering. The existing offices were essentially unchanged from the original 1967 construction, and in need of functional and aesthetic upgrades. A major element of the design was to create a large, welcoming waiting space with a greeter desk for students coming to meet with advisors and administrative staff.
The design also created a new, large office for the department chair, three additional offices for advisors, a small team room, and provided needed upgrades to finishes in the existing large department conference room. All of the new areas incorporated glass wall systems to allow for a more open-feeling space, while retaining essential confidentiality through the strategic use of frosted glazing film. Project scope also included all new furnishings, electrical and data upgrades, new accent lighting, and minor modification to existing HVAC systems.
