Improving efficiency and timeliness.
Improving the efficiency and timeliness of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory were the main goals for this renovation and addition project. Before, prosecutors had to wait five months or more for the results of drug-analysis tests from the overwhelmed lab. The lab’s caseload has doubled since 2000; the lab desperately needed more space to accommodate staff and storage room for evidence.
The renovation and expansion included a new Instrument Room, Office Suite, and two Storage Rooms. Also some laboratory cabinetry and equipment were upgraded and emergency power expanded. The project was carefully planned to allow for the lab to continuously be open and occupied during construction. Our team is worked to make this happen by planning a step by step process of what must happen first, next, and so forth to allow the lab to be uninterrupted during working hours.
