Wyandot Lodge

Net-zero energy. Making as much energy as you use.

New lodge and educational center for the City of Columbus’ McKnight Outdoor Education Center located along the West riverbank of the Scioto River. Featuring a multi-purpose space, the lodge will be used for camps as well as rented for events. The facility also features a science room, activity room, offices, kitchen, quiet room and restrooms. The project is designed Net Zero Energy meaning that upon completion, it will capture as much energy as the occupants use over the course of a year. Design includes limiting the electric needed to run the facility. Occupant behaviors as well as various heating/cooling options were thoroughly investigated before selecting the systems that would work the best for this location and occupants.
