Hitchcock Lecture Hall and Classroom Renovation | The Ohio State University

Creating study areas within circulation space.

OSU's Hitchcock Hall features a large, 640 seat lecture hall, two tiered classrooms with seating for 124 each, one small general use classroom for 42 seats, and open circulation space. The existing building's design (circa 1960) had become outdated and needed renovations including updated finishes, acoustic treatments, ceilings and lighting and controls, and flooring.  Prior circulation space was converted into a comfortable student commons study area and the lecture hall and classrooms were were completed to reflect OSU brand standards. M+A completed the A/E design as part of a design/build project delivery team, as well as selection of furnishing types, styles and fabrics in collaboration with the University’s Project Manager. Project was completed on time for the start of the school year.
